Sildvik substation

The Sildvik switching substation was built in 1982 and is approaching the end of its technical service life. The substation therefore requires renovation.

The substation has no transformer and consists of five 132 kV switchbays: three power lines to the main grid – to Narvik, Kvandal and Tornehamn (Sweden), respectively – a connection to Nordkraft Magasin AS and a connection to the railway station at Rombak.

Statnett plans to build a new facility approximately 300 m from the existing substation. The new facility will be an indoor SF6 plant (gas-insulated plant).

The Sildvik switching substation is located in Narvik municipality, in the Nordland county.
