Going forward, Statnett will:
- invest in major development projects
- focus on environmentally friendly measures in terms of renewable energy and environmental development initiatives
- be an advocate for promoting the development of European market solutions.
If you enjoy working on large, long-term projects, you will have many opportunities with us. One example of a large project is the subsea power cable between Norway and the Netherlands (NorNed). In May 2008, the cable, the world's longest subsea high voltage cable (580 km), was completed and put into commercial operation. We have several major projects and investments planned over the next few years. Read more here: Grid development Plan 2011.
In Statnett we want our employees to develop their potential and have tasks that are stimulating and motivating. While most learning takes place through problem solving at work, we also offer plenty of opportunities for professional and personal development through courses and conferences in and outside Statnett.
Statnett has an informal atmosphere and a good working environment. We want our employees to enjoy their work and balance their work and leisure time.
We have just finished a large organisational development project: renovation of our headquarters in Oslo. The focus of the project was to design a "collaborative environment" featuring office solutions that promote learning, networking and flexibility.
We offer competitive terms that include an individual market-based salary, good pension and insurance schemes, flexible working hours, etc.
Many of our employees are also active outside working hours and make use of one or more of the following employee benefits and facilities:
- Company sports teams with 12 sports to choose from
- Company cabins
- Social events
